The scope of the position will perform duties applicable to the operations and activities of the Credentials Verification Office for Baptist Health, working with the Systems Manager of Credentialing, Hospital Administration, and the Medical Staff offices at 4 facilities.
Accurately processes credentials verification files for new applicants of the Medical Staff and Allied Health Professionals (AHPs), as well as reappointment applications. Exercises discretion and independent judgment in the comparison and evaluation of credential information received to ensure applicants and reappointments are qualified candidates for medical staff membership. Ensures legal and regulatory requirements are met for all credentialing processes.
Requires Associate Degree in Business or equivalent or have at least two years relevant work experience.
Medical Staff Services certification strongly preferred (CPMSM; CPCS).
Must possess basic office equipment knowledge and skill (FAX, typing, copying).
Must possess advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, Access databases).
Must possess knowledge of medico legal issues, laws and regulatory agency requirements.
Must be self directed and have excellent organizational skills, and able to adapt to change and adjust job responsibilities as hospital, outside agencies and government mandate.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; individual should be highly motivated with problem solving and analysis abilities.
