JOB SUMMARY: Safely and correctly operates equipment delivering ionizing radiation for the purpose of treating neoplastic diseases or for other therapeutic purposes. Applies ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with the prescription and instruction of the Radiation Oncologist. Carries out pretreatment preparations including simulations and fabrication of treatment devices.

A. EDUCATION: Associates Degree, Bachelors preferred
B. EXPERIENCE: Must be knowledgeable of the operation methods and safety standards of all equipment producing ionizing radiation within the Dept.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS
A. Current registration in Radiation Therapy with American Registry of Radiologic Technology, ARRT and licensure (as required by state or national authority)
B. Certification in CPR
EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, WORK AIDS:
A. Linear Accelerator, On Board Imaging Equipment related to Treatment Field Positioning, CT Scan / Simulator, Film Processor, All Treatment Positioning Devices, Cerrobend Blocks, and any other therapeutic equipment/machines or their reasonable accommodations.
