The Clinical Risk Manager assists System Director of Risk Management and General Counsel in the management of the organization-wide risk management program and provides guidance to clinical staff and medical staff. The Clinical Risk Manager develops and maintains systems within BH to detect, monitor, prevent, organize, measure, investigate, report and manage malpractice claims, serious adverse events, and other indicators of potential patient harm.
Education / Experience: Valid Alabama RN License, BS preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of hospital risk management experience preferred. Broad knowledge of healthcare regulations including TJC, CoPs, Alabama state and federal regulations, also required. Knowledge of federal regarding patient rights related to grievances also preferred.
License / Certification required: Valid Alabama RN License. Certified Professional in healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) certification preferred. Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) required within two years on position.
